Wylam Brewery Wedding Photography

Some weddings just feel like a homecoming, and this one really did. It was my third time photographing a wedding with this group of friends, and Wylam Brewery was the perfect backdrop for relaxed, joy-filled wedding photography. There’s something about Wylam Brewery wedding photography that just works – the industrial edges, the atmosphere, and the way the space lets people be themselves.

Wylam Brewery is such a brilliant venue, right in the middle of Exhibition Park. Leafy trees outside, industrial charm inside, and just the right balance of relaxed and striking. We had full sun for most of the day, which meant we could make the most of the park for some couple portraits. Later on, we even snuck into the brewery itself for a few fun shots between the barrels.

The whole day had such a good energy. Eve looked amazing in her dress, and the atmosphere during prep was full of excitement and warmth. The harp and piano music from Ada Grace created a calm, emotional vibe for the ceremony. Everything just flowed.

And the speeches. Easily some of the funniest I’ve witnessed in a long time. Wayne and his brother were on top form. The timing was perfect too, because just as the speeches started, the thunderstorm that had been threatening all day finally hit. It only added to the atmosphere. The rain hammered on the roof while everyone laughed and toasted and passed tissues around.

Highlight moment though? One of the bridesmaids absolutely flying out of the photo booth and landing flat on the floor. I don’t know how, but I was already in position and caught the whole thing. Just had a gut feeling something was about to happen. I live for these moments!

The dancefloor was buzzing later on, helped along by the city-wide excitement. Sam Fender was playing that weekend, so Newcastle had an extra bit of magic in the air. You could feel it.

“Thank you!!! we Had a sneak peek and LOVE them. we Will enjoy reliving over an aperol later on”

A MASSIVE thanks to Eve and Wayne for having me – what a day!

My approach is all about capturing the real stuff – those unposed, in-between moments that tell the true story of your day. If you’re planning a wedding at Wylam Brewery, or anywhere in Newcastle or the North East and want relaxed, creative photos that feel genuine, I’d love to hear from you.
