Halifax Wedding photographer The Venue Bowers Mill
Halifax wedding photography at the perfect venue
Well what a day this was! Sarina and David’s wedding at The Venue at Bowers Mill was full of energy, colour, love and banging tunes. It was the kind of day that reminds me why I love being a Halifax wedding photographer – there are some great venues right on my doorstep! From the moment I arrived, I could feel the buzz. And it didn’t disappoint.
The Venue at Bowers Mill is a cracking spot for a wedding. It has gorgeous indoor spaces, ideal when the British weather is doing its thing. It also offers on-site accommodation, which keeps things relaxed and stress-free. So, if you’re looking for a venue near Leeds that has it all in one place – this one’s worth checking out. Plus, I’ll be back here in December for a Christmassy wedding. I can’t wait!
A Fun, Colourful Celebration
Sarina and David both work as doctors and met playing medics hockey at uni. These two had great vibes – kind, fun, and all the energy of a Duracell bunny! Naturally, their wedding reflected all of that and much more.
They wanted the day to feel relaxed and for their guests to have an amazing time – mission well and truly accomplished. In particular for me, one of the highlights was their outfit change into traditional Indian attire between dinner and cake cutting. It brought a whole new wave of energy and vibrant colour to the party. Moreover, the flower garland exchange was a beautiful Indian tradition to capture.
Relaxed Documentary Wedding Photography
What really stood out about this wedding was how full of genuine, joyful moments it was. From the laughter during speeches, hugs from old friends, spontaneous dancing to kids running around the venue – it all came together beautifully. Personally, these are the kinds of in-between moments I love to capture. Natural, unposed, and totally unique to each couple.
We made the most of the grounds for portraits too – a field right next to the venue was perfect for some lovely images. Then there’s a hidden little walkway down to a pond which felt like a secret escape for some quiet, intimate moments. So this was perfect for a wedding photographer like myself who loves to capture natural beauty and genuine moments.
The staff at Bowers Mill were fantastic, and in particular Lydia, their on-the-day coordinator, made everything run like clockwork – massive thank-you to her!
